There is no question that Yamaha’s new YXZ 1000R is a game changer. From the 998cc triple to the 5-speed sequential close ratio transmission, this machine lives up to its billing as the first “pure sport” Side-X-Side produced. But for such a purpose-built weapon, DragonFire did find it curious that a simple 3-point automotive style lap belt — with no padding — was utilized. For a machine that is intended to be race-ready the lack of proper restraints is problematic… not to mention illegal in many sanctioned competition events.
If you are planning to run proper 4-point harnesses (or DragonFire’s SFI-approved 5-point full competition harness) you will need DragonFire’s new harness mounting hardware before you can go anywhere.
