Polaris Industries Inc. has reported a record second-quarter ended June 30, 2015, with an increase of 4 percent from the prior year. The second-quarter results included additional manufacturing costs and inefficiencies, as Polaris worked to scale-up production and add capacity to the paint system at the company’s motorcycle facility in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Polaris Industries Inc. reported record second quarter net income of $96.9 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2014, up 21 percent from the prior year’s second quarter net income of $80.0 million. Sales for the second quarter 2014 totaled a record $1,014.0 million, an increase of 20 percent.

The OEM reports net income of $80.0 million, or $1.13 per diluted share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2013, up 15 percent from the prior year’s second quarter net income of $69.8 million, or $0.98 per diluted share. Sales for the second quarter 2013 totaled a record $844.8 million, an increase of 12 percent over last year’s second quarter sales of $755.4 million.
Hero MotoCorp to Invest $25 Million in Erik Buell Racing
The company has announced that it will purchase a 48.2 percent stake in EBR, and the transaction will take place over the next nine months. The objective for Hero MotoCorp is to build up a line of better powered sports motorcycles than its competitors in India, including Honda.
