FIN GPS Recovers 2022 Yamaha YZF-R7 Motorcycle

While the owner was on the opposite side of the country, her Yamaha was stolen.

Find It Now (FIN) GPS Security has announced the successful recovery of a 2022 Yamaha YZF-R7 motorcycle.

While out of town, thousands of miles away from her motorcycle, a FIN customer was alerted that her Yamaha motorcycle was being moved. Even though she was in California and her motorcycle was in South Carolina, the customer knew she could track her motorcycle from anywhere at anytime via the FIN app. She was also aware that FIN has recovery agents available 24/7/365 to assist.

After the customer logged into the FIN app and saw that her motorcycle continued moving, she immediately contacted the FIN theft hotline, followed by police. The customer and a FIN theft recovery expert tracked the motorcycle to a private barn in Sumter, South Carolina, where the thieves eventually disconnected the power to the Yamaha motorcycle. The customer was immediately alerted about the power disconnection and informed the police. The FIN recovery expert and customer continued to track the motorcycle after the FIN was disconnected by utilizing the built-in internal backup battery.

Before local authorities could obtain a warrant to gain access to the barn, the motorcycle was on the move once again. The local authorities were immediately notified and made their way to another residence in Sumter, where the vehicle was ultimately spotted and recovered. No arrests were made at the time, as thieves did not respond to the front door of the residence; however, the case is still ongoing.
