Mitas Conquers Sandy Motocross Terrains With All-New TERRA FORCE-MX SAND 2

Motocross riders will soon have a new tire to conquer deep sand with added traction and control when the new Mitas TERRA FORCE-MX SAND 2 comes off the line this October. Developed and tested with racers, this new rear tire was designed to give top traction in deep, soft sand. The new tread pattern will replace the current SAND pattern for rear wheels.

Gustavo Pinto Teixeira, vice president of two wheels and specialty tires at Yokohama TWS, remarked, “The TERRA FORCE-MX SAND 2 really takes tire performance on sandy terrain to a whole new level. The new TERRA FORCE-MX SAND 2 brings a whole new tread pattern featuring a deep (19.7 millimeter) paddle design with wide voids for ultimate traction when accelerating, cornering and braking. Its high performance, hard rubber compound and specially designed carcass with increased lateral support give riders even more incredible control.

Classified as NHS (Not for Highway Service), the SAND 2 is identified by its characteristic dual red stripes and comes only as a rear fitment. It can be used with the Mitas TERRA FORCE-MX SAND or TERRA FORCE-MX SM front tire.

+6-Inch Custom Springer Forks

Give your ride that “old school” look with a Drag Specialties +6-Inch Custom Springer Fork. These forks are an economical alternative to a shock-dampened type springer. They come fully assembled with an in-line top bracket without a built-in rake. They measure 37 inches from top bearing to axle and have a 1-inch outer diameter steering stem that is designed for Timken-type bearings. Both rear legs come threaded for right or left brakes. The forks require a wheel compatible with a ¾-inch outer diameter axle. The included ¾-inch outer diameter axle kit contains a brake mount pivot with thrust washer and hub spacers (custom spacers might be required depending on the wheel used). The forks measures 9¼ inches between the rockers and the riser mounts are on 4¾-inch centers and threaded ½-inch-20. These forks do no accept spotlight bars and have no fender mounts. They are available in chrome and black for 1984 to 2017 Big Twin and 1986 to 2003 XL models (except Dressers and Dyna Glides). The suggested retail price is $719.95 for black and $749.95 for chrome.
