ARGO 2020 XTR Sales Exceed Expectations

Propelled by exceptional growth in its amphibious XTR (Xtreme Terrain Robotics) vehicle sales, which has set the stage for even greater success in the future.

ARGO is on roll, pushing the boundaries of product innovation and sales success. Propelled by exceptional growth in its amphibious XTR (Xtreme Terrain Robotics) vehicle sales, which has set the stage for even greater success in the future.

“As a company, ARGO is exceeding expectations due in large part to sales growth in our robotics business,” said Brad Darling, ARGO president. “We have already delivered more XTR vehicles this year than we did in all of 2019. This tremendous growth is the direct result of a new sales leader and new innovative products that ideally serve customers in mining, military, security, agriculture, search and rescue, energy and other industries that rely on the unmatched versatility of our amphibious robotic vehicles.”

In October, ARGO hired Andy Buck as director of robotic sales. Buck brings years of experience in the robotics industry and is a key factor in continued growth of existing customers and the addition of several new customers to the company’s XTR business.

ARGO recently released the new 2020 ARGO Rover, an electric amphibious UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) utilizing a Vanguard Commercial Lithium Ion Battery and Battery Management System from Briggs & Stratton. Like other ARGO UGVs, the Rover can be controlled via remote teleoperation, line-of-sight RF, or a “follow-me” system, with user-friendly program editing for autonomous missions.

“UGVs are a growth category for us,” said Kevin Asselin, ARGO vice president of sales. “We actually go to market two ways, one is under our own brand, the Argo Rover. Another is under our Integrator Program where we provide an Argo XTR platform to companies that market to militaries using them to transport supplies in rough terrain. They are also becoming a preferred choice for resource exploration companies, where unmanned, amphibious vehicles can traverse areas that are too dangerous for people.”
