Cody Webb Wins the 2024 LIQUI MOLY King of the Motos for the 6th Time

Cody Webb dominated the U.S. Hard Enduro opening round in the three-lap, GPS-based race in Johnson Valley.

After a rainy start on “Chocolate Thunder”, Sherco Factory rider Cody Webb captured his sixth victory at the Liqui Moly King of the Motos with a total time of 3:25:24. The 32-year-old, Colorado-based rider stayed ahead of last year’s winner, Red Bull FMF KTM factory rider Trystan Hart, for the majority of the race. The podium was rounded out by Rockstar Husqvarna rider Ryder LeBlond in third.

“The dirt was the best it’s ever been, and this is the best King of the Motos we’ve ever had,“ said Webb. “It was a really fun race out there with those young guys, but I was still able to pull it off. Not pitting on the last lap really was definitely the thing that helped get me the win and get away from those guys.”

One hundred-fifty riders in 12 classes took on Sunday’s three-lap race with a large selection of new features to tackle, including a new route on the second lap through Downtown, one of the most difficult sections on this year’s course. The layout for race two covered a total of 41 miles. Riders are not able to receive help on the pits, meaning they have to refuel their own bikes and make any repairs necessary to finish the race.

“This year’s race definitely met my expectations in regards to how challenging it was,” said Race Director Justin Leineweber. “One of the best parts is seeing the younger riders that have been training for basically their whole life, riding the same course as the pros on Sunday. We have riders from 14 to 62 years old on track.”
