After over 3,000 miles of grueling racing, Jacopo Cerutti and the Aprilia Tuareg have won the 2024 Africa Eco Race.
Cerutti and Tuareg were first in the overall standings for the entire race, right from the first stage. It is an extraordinary result for the Aprilia Tuareg in its debut in the great African rallies, dominating against a talented field of experienced riders more familiar with the African terrain.
Developed by Aprilia Racing in collaboration with Guareschi brothers’ GCorse, the Aprilia Tuareg designed for desert racing exploits. With the great off-road capabilities of the production Tuareg from which it is closely derived, it’s a bike designed for global adventure and which, even in the grueling African environment, has confirmed riding and engine qualities of absolute excellence.
One year after its first presentation, the “back to Africa” project built to bring Aprilia back to desert racing has achieved huge success. In preparation for the Africa Eco Race, the Cerutti/Tuareg duo also won the Italian Motorally title and captured a podium at Transanatolia, their first ever race in the big rallies. The competition version of the Aprilia Tuareg is equipped with Öhlins by Andreani suspension, complete with SC-Project titanium exhaust and specific Sprint Filter air filter.
