J & P Cycles is relocating its core operations outside of Anamosa, IA. The largest retailer of aftermarket parts, accessories and apparel for Harley-Davidson and V-Twin Cruiser motorcycles will be moving its warehouse to Louisville, KY. Its administrative offices will move to Dallas, and call center operations will be consolidated in Ormond Beach, FL. A retail center will continue operating in Eastern Iowa.

J & P Cycles employees were told of the plans on June 3 by the company’s corporate parent, MAG Retail of Irvine, CA. Oregon-based Motorcycle Superstore joined with J & P Cycles in 2012 to form MAG Retail.

Ryan Polk, the president of J&P Cycles’ parent company, MAG Retail told the Journal-Eureka that 125 employees in Anamosa are affected, including 52 in the warehouse and 73 in the office.

The company expects to continue shipping products from Anamosa through the end of January, and the Anamosa location, including the showroom, will close entirely sometime in 2016.

The decision to move to Louisville was based on a changing business model and being more centrally located to customers.
