Yuasa Battery Inc. and its parent company, GS Yuasa, have renewed sponsorship of Honda Racing Corp. (HRC) and riders Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa for the 2016 MotoGP racing season. Yuasa has been a sponsor of HRC since 2013 and is the primary OE battery supplier for Honda powersports vehicles, including the street sportbikes.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, the Yuasa logo will appear on rider uniforms and throughout the HRC pit area.

HRC is responsible for the development, manufacture and sales of motorcycles and parts for racing. The company is a dominant force in motorcycle Grand Prix racing, winning more MotoGP/500cc championships than any other manufacturer: 21.

Marc Marquez is one of four riders to have won world championship titles in three different categories. He won the 2010 125cc World Championship, the 2012 Moto2 World Championship, and the 2013 and 2014 MotoGP World Championships. He became the first rider since Kenny Roberts in 1978 to accomplish the premier class title in his first season, and the youngest to win the title overall. In 2014, Marquez defended his title, winning the championship with three races to spare.

Dani Pedrosa has become one of the most successful riders in Honda’s history and has achieved more podiums for the Japanese manufacturer than any other rider, with a total of 141. Pedrosa has finished in the top four in the championship standings in both 2014 and 2015. He ended 2015 on a high note, winning the Japanese and Malaysian races.
