VP Racing Fuels Inc. has announced that Dennis Stanko, director of sales – consumer products, has been appointed director of sales – specialty products, a new position in Texas Allied Chemicals Inc. (TACI), a sister company of VP Racing Fuels. While TACI has engaged for some time in brokering petrochemical products, Stanko’s appointment signifies a higher level of commitment by VP to penetrating and developing that market segment.
Prior to joining VP in 2011, Stanko worked at Valero Energy with responsibility for wholesale, supply and trading and at NuStar Energy in sales and business development. An entrepreneur, Stanko also owned the i9 Sports youth sports franchise that he pioneered in the San Antonio market and also participated in several start-up businesses.
Replacing Stanko as director of sales – consumer products is Bruce Hendel, who previously served as Western sales manager for the company’s VP Racing Fuels division. In his new role, Hendel will be responsible for product development and sales of VP’s growing line of consumer products.
Based in Southern California, Hendel managed race fuel sales for VP’s Western Region for the last 20 years, contributing substantial growth with a particular emphasis on the powersport market. Prior to joining VP, Hendel owned and operated a KTM dealership in Terre Haute, Ind., and was also involved in a printing and packaging business prior to that.
“Bruce has been instrumental in growing race fuel sales and making VP a dominant force on the West Coast,” said Alan Cerwick, president of VP Racing Fuels. “Given his record of success over the past 20 years with VP’s racing fuels division and prior business experience, I expect Bruce to hit the ground running and continue our forward momentum with our consumer products division.
“The substantial growth we’ve seen in our consumer products division in the last year has largely been due to the efforts of Dennis and his team,” Cerwick continued. “With Dennis focused on specialty products and fuel sales, I am completely confident we will be able to fulfill customers’ supply needs and continue to dramatically increase sales.”
