Fresh from setting seven records on the Bonneville Salt Flats, the 1000cc V-Twin Sport Classic unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy was designed not only to set records at Bonneville, but to kick off the 90th anniversary of the most famous model in the company’s history — the Brough Superior SS100.
The Brough Superior SS100 celebrates the company’s 90th Anniversary. The company, founded by George Brough and made famous by "Lawrence Of Arabia" T.E. Lawrence, the born-again brand is the brainchild of Brough Superior CEO Mark Upham. Upham purchased the brand in 2008, with the intention of expanding the Brough’s role in motorcycling history.
The SS100 is built around its specifically designed 88-degree V-Twin displacing 997cc, intended to produce between 100-140hp, depending on ECU settings. The production version has not been set to be released in the U.S. yet, since the new SS100 will only be available in limited numbers. However, Upham stated that the long-term goal for the Brough Superior is to become the new reference in technology, performance and distinction. Superior also wishes to establish a world-wide dealer network.
