The show floor was abuzz with business at the Tucker Rocky & Biker’s Choice Dealer Show held Aug. 6-8 at the Frisco Convention Center in Frisco, Texas.
150+ vendors and 1,500 total attendees marked a record turnout for the Texas-based distributor.
Before team MPN hit the road, we asked Tucker Rocky president and COO, Steve Johnson what the event had in store for attendees, and in addition to the opportunity to connect with key suppliers in the industry he focused on Tucker Rocky’s emphasis on training. “We have put a renewed focus on dealer education. We have developed a series of educational seminars that focus on marketing, sales training, merchandising and other topics that will allow dealers to maximize their store profitability and return on investment,” said Johnson.
The seminars delivered on Johnson’s promise, and this editor was impressed by the easy-to-implement take-aways the session presented for dealers.
I wasn’t the only one impressed by the organized efforts of Tucker Rocky’s event staff. “The feedback from the dealers was overwhelmingly positive, especially with regard to the various educational programs/seminars that were featured this year,” said newly minted Tucker Rocky vice president of marketing Hank Desjardins. “When times are tough, we all need to hone our business skill sets, so we attempted to provide our dealers with real world tools they could employ immediately to improve performance.”
MPN also met with a numbers of suppliers at the show, and they too saw the event as a success. “We have only been ‘part of the family’ a few months and this is our first experience selling our Cosworth Motocross Pistons through a distributor,” said Ken Jacobs, sales manager at Cosworth America. “I must say that Tucker Rocky certainly knows how to put on a show and accommodate all that attend. I will go as far as saying that others in the industry should pay attention, as they could sure learn a lot from Tucker Rocky on how to organize a successful show.”
