2016: A Year of Firsts for Women in Motorcycling

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]his years marks the 100th anniversary of Adeline and Augusta Van Buren each riding her own motorcycle across the United States. In 1916 the two intrepid sisters set out from Brooklyn, New York, riding a series of farm roads and tracks that had just been conceptualized as the Lincoln Highway a scant three years earlier.

Kuryakyn Holdings, LLC and Mustang Motorcycle Products, LLC have announced support of the Sisters’ Centennial Ride. The group ride pays tribute to the 100th anniversary of Augusta and Adeline Van Buren’s remarkable two-wheeled expedition from Sheepshead Bay, NY, to San Francisco.

National Cycle Joins the Sisters’ Centennial Motorcycle Ride

The Sisters’ Centennial Motorcycle Ride happily welcomes National Cycle as its most recent partner. Several of the staff will be using the ZTechnik windshields in the cross-country ride, most notably on BMW Motorcycles.

Sisters’ Centennial Motorcycle Ride is Filling Up Fast

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) sanctioned event is a cross-country motorcycle ride for women, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Adeline and Augusta Van Buren’s historic ride across the United States from New York to San Francisco. It takes place July 3-24, 2016.
