Kawasaki Agrees to $5.2 Million Penalty for Failure to Report Defective ROVs to CPSC
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., of Japan, Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., have agreed to pay a $5.2 million civil penalty.

The newly published U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) 2014 Annual Report of ATV Deaths and Injuries confirmed once again that fatalities and injuries related to all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) continue to decline. The Annual Report has shown a decrease in fatalities and injuries every year since 2007.

All-terrain vehicle injuries have declined significantly from 2007 through 2013 according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The report also found that estimated ATV-related fatalities have declined each year from 2007 through 2013, but noted that data collection for 2010-2013 is ongoing.
