The zero-emission Vectrix let runners breathe easy as a trio of the bikes served as the pace vehicles for the Boston Marathon back on April 21, escorting race director Dave McGillivray and race photographers along the 26-mile route. The Boston Athletic Association, sponsor of the marathon since its inception, chose Vectrix for its zero emission technology.
“Studies have shown that fuel emissions may have potential adverse effects on runners,” said Ron Kramer, lead vehicle coordinator for the B.A.A. “We are especially concerned with those vehicles that are closest to the runners, and Vectrix electric vehicles will eliminate any adverse effects.”
The bikes didn’t have to worry about getting passed by the pack as they can accelerate up to 62 mph! Ready to rake in some green of your own? Find out more at www.vectrix.com.
