The Quail Motorcycle Gathering Presented by TUDOR will mark its sixth annual edition in 2014, on Saturday, May 17, as it celebrates the heritage, artistry, design and engineering of these two-wheeled machines that are symbolic of the freedom of the open road.

The Quail Motorcycle Gathering Presented by TUDOR is hosted by The Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel, California, a setting whose atmosphere – enhanced by live entertainment, gourmet offerings from local producers, as well as lifestyle and leading motorcycle manufacturers – is the perfect complement to the vintage and modern hardware on display during this historical showcase.

Since 1955, when TUDOR created an advertising campaign celebrating the performance of the Oyster Prince wristwatch during the grueling 1,000-mile Monaco International Trophy for motorcycles, the brand has had an enduring association with motor sports. Over the decades, the demanding nature of motor sports has proven the perfect testing ground for the wristwatch as accuracy and performance in extreme conditions effected tangible proof of TUDOR’s quality and durability.

Reflecting pre- and post-war era style and design, over 200 sport and racing bikes will be displayed at the 2014 Quail Motorcycle Gathering in categories such as Antique, Japanese, European, Competition, American, Off-Road, Custom/Modified and Superbike. A TUDOR Fastrider Black Shield will be presented to the winner of Best in Show of this “Evolution of the Motorcycle” which celebrates the past, present and future of motorcycling. The TUDOR Fastrider Black Shield, from the line of chronographs dedicated to speed and top performance, fuses an edgy, masculine style with precision and technology; the resulting timepiece – which TUDOR developed to animate its partnership with Ducati – is a perfect fit with the untamed nature of motorcycling.

"TUDOR is proud to support the sixth annual edition of this event which is quickly becoming a fixture on the Monterey peninsula spring calendar," said Russell Kelly, Brand Manager for Tudor Watch U.S.A. "Like the motorcycle aficionados who attend the Quail Motorcycle Gathering Presented by TUDOR, we share a passion for celebrating history, heritage and style.”
