Shopatron Helps Brands Sell More on Facebook

Shopatron has been helping branded manufacturers sell more on their websites and in retail stores since 2001, but now the retail-integrated eCommerce provider helps brands sell more on their favorite social networks too.

Earlier this month, Shopatron released its first “social stores” on Facebook, allowing fans of its client brands to browse products on the most popular social network on the web.

Social stores integrate eCommerce into Facebook with a “Shop” tab that allows members to browse product catalogues directly from the social network. If a Facebook user likes a product, all they do is click “BUY NOW” and they’re redirected to the brand’s online store to complete the purchase.

And because the product catalog is located in a tab clearly marked “Shop,” it’s a less intrusive way to reach brand loyalists, leaving the other sections of Facebook for fan interaction.

“Social shops are a great way for a brand to monetize social marketing,” said Ed Stevens, founder and CEO of Shopatron. “Since people are already discussing products with their friends on Facebook, why not make it easy for members to buy them directly?”

Initial Shopatron brands to extend their online store to Facebook as part of the Shopatron Affiliate Network include: Breyer Horses, Eibach Springs and Alex Toys.

“Having a robust Breyer presence on Facebook is important to our consumers, and we know they’ll appreciate the convenience of being able to shop for their favorite models right on our fan page,” said Kathleen Fallon, Director of Communications for Breyer Animal Creations, a division of Reeves International, Inc.

Shopatron social stores are currently available as a beta release feature for Shopatron clients. Brands interested in more information can request additional information here.

“The Shopatron team continues to earn top marks with us for their understanding and facility with social media and eCommerce,” Fallon said, “by bringing opportunities like this to us and putting them into practice so quickly.”
