The Shoei Qwest full-face helmet features an aerodynamic shell design that has been maximized through extensive wind-tunnel and professional riders’ feedback. The helmet’s dual-layer EPS liner enhances impact absorption and ventilation. The five shell and six EPS-liner sizes present increased fit options that help to comfortably fit most head sizes. A molded air spoiler reduces drag and lift, as well as diminishes weight pressure on neck while riding at high speeds.
The helmet’s ventilation system features an upper air intake vent that is positioned to maximize air volume into the helmet’s interior, while a large upper intake vent is positioned to maximize performance behind wind screens.
The ventilation is also helped by an easy-to-operate large lower intake vent and a lower air intake/defroster vent that reduces shield fogging and increases ventilation. Rear/neck outlets allow for effective air exhaust, and breath guard and chin curtain are included.
The Shoei Qwest is made of Lightweight Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus (AIM+) that features high-performance materials that are combined with elastic organic fibers to create a shell structure that is ultra-lightweight, rigid and resilient. The interior system has a 3-D center pad and multi-layered, polyurethane foam cheek pads.
The Q.R.S.A. (Quick-Release Self-Adjusting) base plate allows for tool-less shield removal and installation. The spring-loaded base plate pulls back shield to contact window beading evenly and ensure proper seal. The CW-1 three-dimensionally curved shield is both wider and taller than the CX-1V it replaces. The sheild has a scratch-resistant coating and offers 99.9% protection from harmful UVA and UVB rays.
