Sherco USA Team Up With Reed Christensen for S.C.O.R.E and Best in the Desert

Christensen is the defending champion of the prestigious Mint 400.

Sherco USA has teamed up with Reed Christensen of 4 Amigos Racing, who races the Ironman class in both the S.C.O.R.E  and Best in the Desert series. Christensen is the defending champion of the prestigious Mint 400 and was leading the Baja 1000 when a fire destroyed his chase trailer with all of his needed equipment. With that, he went on to finish the race on borrowed tires, lubricants, air filters and goggles. He was one of seven total finishers in the Ironman class.

Having started his racing journey at the age of four, Christensen has become a prominent figure in the desert racing world. Currently racing at the pinnacle of his class, he serves as both a team rider and owner at 4 Amigos Racing. His competitiveness shines through in all the races and series he participates in, excelling at the highest levels on both national and international stages.

After winning the Mint 400, he became one of the few solo finishers of the world’s longest nonstop off-road race, the famous Baja 1000. Covering a grueling distance of over 1,300 miles across ever-changing and harsh terrain, Christensen faced the challenges head-on. Despite encountering a trailer fire early in the race while leading, he continued the journey. Unfortunately, the blaze consumed his trailer, originally intended to be his essential support throughout the point-to-point race on the Baja California peninsula. This setback left Reed without assistance for the final 40 hours of the race, where he valiantly battled the terrain and climate changes solo, crossing the finish line at 3 a.m. after an impressive 49.5 hours of racing.

“I had the opportunity to ride a Sherco SEF 450 at the Baja 1000 as part of a team of former Nitro Circus executives,” said Christensen.  “I was immediately impressed with the performance and handling of the machine. We only had to change air filters, oil and tires. The bike performed flawlessly. That was part of the reason in why I chose to ride for Sherco USA. I know the Sherco machines are top quality. I also want to be the first person to win the Ironman class World Championship at the 1000 on a Sherco. Together, I know we can make history.”

“I was at the airport returning from an EnduroCross race when Dave [team manager Dave Hunter] approached me and asked if I wanted to win the Baja 1000,” said Sherco USA President Ron Sallman. “I don’t think a second passed when I said let’s do it. Reed is an accomplished young rider, having won the Ironman class at the Mint 400. He suffered through adversity last year at the Baja 1000 and proved his grit and determination. We want to make history with Reed being the first to not only finish the  Ironman class at the 1000 on a Sherco, but be the first to win it as well.”
