The included Sas-Tec armor is easily removed from the knees, without having to take the pants off.

The Birmingham features abrasion-resistant cotton / nylon blend fabric. It has reinforced fabric on the knees, shins and seat, and reinforced Exo-Stitch safety stitching on all critical seams.

The pants are also fully armored with removable Sas-Tec body protection systems, and have antique brass YKK zippers and snaps and four pockets and two large cargo pockets.
