For the 2015 Fall RSD Apparel Collection, Roland Sands wanted to get back to basics. The gear must be versatile enough to ride in and comfortable enough to wear off the bike. Tall order, but combining the elemental functionality with every day wearability is what the new line is all about.
“We like to think our jackets are more than just motorcycle jackets, they become part of you,” says GP-racer turned designer Roland Sands. “These jackets become part of your wardrobe… and your life… as you journey from one destination to the next. Some of our newest pieces seek to take you further, with technically driven fabrics combined with heritage materials that keep you dry and warm in the harshest of conditions.”
Additions to the RSD range include the new Houston, Edwards and Kent jackets made of British Millerain waxed cotton. “Just like our leathers, we’re proud of our unique textiles. You have to experience the historically proven comfort, durability and function of waxed cotton for yourself,” says Sands. Augmenting the waxed cotton gear are the heritage leather jackets, including returning favorites like the Ronin, Clash and Riot.
Leather or waxed cotton, each piece has been crafted with protection and rider function as a priority. Technical elements such as pre-curved sleeves, shoulder gussets and armor pockets are integrated into every riding jacket. Other pieces utilize well-placed perforation to bring cooling where you need it most. “As we move the RSD rider apparel into new territories, we promise to keep it stylish, simple and wearable,” concludes Sands. “See you at the next destination.”
