Race Tech to Sponsor Award at 2013 Scott Sports Vurb Classic

For the second year in a row, competitors will be fighting for a special award from Race Tech: the Race Tech Shocking Performance Award. The award will be given to the rider who exceeds expectations on the track and represents him/herself professionally off the track.

Race Tech has announced its support for the 2013 Scott Sports Vurb Classic, an amateur motocross event held annually in Oatfield, Ga.

For the second year in a row, competitors will be fighting for a special award from Race Tech: the Race Tech Shocking Performance Award. The award will be given to the rider who exceeds expectations on the track and represents him/herself professionally off the track. One rider from each of the three rounds of the Vurb Classic will take home a special trophy from Race Tech along with an offer to join the Race Tech Rider Support Team with a full factory support deal, including free Race Tech parts and labor for 2014.

In addition, Race Tech’s technicians will be on site at the event to provide technical support, suspension setups and service.

"We support the Vurb Classic because it is a great mix of good, competitive racing mixed with a fun atmosphere," said Chris Riesenberg, director of marketing for Race Tech. "It is a great reminder that we all started in this sport because we enjoy it, and that it is possible to have a great time mixed with intense on the track action.

"We are always looking for new ways to get involved with racers and events, and the Race Tech Shocking Performance Award is something we started last year as a way to give back to the racers who give it their all on the track and demonstrate good sportsmanship off the track. These riders have maybe been overlooked or need that next level support to accomplish their goals. Both the winners from last year’s award are currently part of the Race Tech family and are benefiting from the support. Our team riders are really special to us, and we look forward to selecting three more driven athletes to join our program after this year’s events."
