The product hype for Park Tool’s Digital Caliper claims it accurately measures steering tubes/stems, bearings, races, spoke diameters, etc.
This precision instrument is built with stainless steel mechanisms and a rugged ABS composite body. The company claims the tool’s ability to measure in metric, decimal inch and fractional inch make it an indispensable shop tool. We put this tool to the test, asking Joe Puccio of Madison, Wis.-based Motorcycle Solutions to put it through its paces.
Joe likes the tool’s easy on/easy off display and appreciates the each of switching between standard and metric measurements. He says it has a good zeroing feature and it makes quick work of sizing items. “This is a great user-friendly caliper that is easy-to-read, without breaking the bank to own one,” Joe concludes. The Digital Caliper retails for $40.95 and comes in a protective case to keep it safely stowed away. If you forget to shut it off, your battery won’t get drained, as it comes with an automatic shut-off.
