Mustang Motorcycle Products will now offer custom seats with a full array of color options and styles through its online custom seat program. The company will reveal the details of its custom seat program to the media at the Long Beach Convention Center as part of Mustang’s display at the International Motorcycle Show.
“In a radical departure from long-standing Mustang tradition, we are now offering custom seats with a selection of different stitch patterns, inlay panels and thread colors to choose from,” said director of sales Steve Veltri. “This gives you the opportunity to make your seat as unique as your ride.”
The first step in Mustang’s automated online seat design process is to pick a stitch pattern. Plain, tuck and roll or diamond stitch options are available. Then, users will pick a color and a live preview will display how the seat design will look.
“We added distressed brown to the mix last year, but now we have a full spectrum of colors to choose from, including everything from sky blue and burgundy to goldenrod and gun metal,” said Veltri. “We know that not everyone’s computer monitor is properly color-calibrated, so we will be happy to send you a color swatch to confirm it is exactly the shade you want before handcrafting your custom seat.”
Mustang is introducing the custom seat option for the Tripper Solo, Tripper Fastback and DayTripper seat models.
“We did a soft launch of the custom seat program this summer to fine tune the process and see what customization options needed to be added,” said Veltri. “Now it is ready for the official unveil at the IMS stop in Long Beach.”
