Motorcyclists don’t have to ride as if they are invisible anymore thanks to the Motorcycle Warning System, a device to alert drivers of approaching motorcycles.
“75 percent of motorcycle accidents can be avoided,” notes Giuseppe Pino Mileto, inventor of the
Motorcycle Warning System. “According the Traffic Safety Center Hurt Study, 75 percent of motorcycle accidents result when motorists fail to detect motorcycles in traffic. The drivers simply don’t see the motorcycle in time to avoid an accident.”
While fewer automobile drivers are injured or killed in motorcycle/automobile accidents, the cost of such accidents is very high. According to the Hurt Study, less than 10 percent of motorcycle riders carry insurance to cover medical care or property damage. Since most motorcycle accidents involve driver error on the part of automobile drivers, the costs land heavily on those drivers. To save motorcycle and automobile drivers from major injuries/fatalities and financial disaster, Mileto invented the Motorcycle Warning System, a device to alert automobile drivers of approaching motorcycles, especially ones that are in the driver’s blind spot. Once adopted, this new device could help eliminate thousands of accidents every year, according to Mileto.
