As part of INTERMOT 2018, all motorcycle fans are invited to celebrate an ecumenical church service in the Cologne Cathedral.
At midday on Oct. 3, Lars Lemke, the pastor responsible for the Hamburg Motorcycle Church Service (MoGo) and the spiritual welfare of bikers for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany (Nordkirche), will deliver a sermon on the theme of “unlimited freedom” and conduct a service together with the Dean of the cathedral, Monsignor Robert Kleine.
Beginning 10:30 a.m., motorcycles may be parked on Roncalliplatz square.
Representatives from the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) will be present on Roncalliplatz square with the “Runter vom Gas” (Easy on the gas) initiative. With the slogan “Real men/strong women don’t speed,” the BMVI is using a photo campaign to encourage greater awareness and lower speeds on the roads.
Following the service, Monsignor Kleine will bless riders and bikes before they ride in a convoy to INTERMOT at the Koelnmesse fairgrounds at 1 p.m. Participants in the convoy will then be able to park for free at the fairgrounds.
