MAG Launches Powersports University Website

Powersports dealers and their personnel can now get on-the-job, online training to keep up with the latest products and trends in the motorcycle aftermarket thanks to Powersports University (www.PowersportsU.com), a new interactive training community for premium aftermarket brands.

Powersports dealers and their personnel can now get on-the-job, online training to keep up with the latest products and trends in the motorcycle aftermarket, thanks to Powersports University (www.PowersportsU.com), a new interactive training community for premium aftermarket brands.

“Without proper training and product knowledge, powersport retailers face a tough future,” explains Eric Anderson, vice president of sales & marketing for Motorsport Aftermarket Group (MAG), a family of leading brands and businesses in the motorsport industry. “MAG has a vested interest in dealers doing well; we want them to not just survive, but thrive. PowerSports University was designed from the ground up to give retailers the training necessary to grow their business.”

Unlike technical training that requires employees to be out of the shop, Powersports University’s online offering – PowersportsU.com – enables staff to earn as they learn without missing work. PowersportsU.com offers the first brand-specific, online, interactive training to more than 10,000 dealers and 1,000 manufacturer and distributor sales representatives in the motorsports industry.

MAG created Powersports University for industry sales representatives and dealership employees to become more knowledgeable in the key product areas of aftermarket sales, including suspension, exhausts, wheels, controls, seats, custom accessories, UTV components and more. Training courses already up and running include offerings from Performance Machine, Progressive Suspension, Renthal and Vance & Hines. More courses are being posted weekly, while interactive video training is expected to be online later in the year. These programs also dovetail with MAG’s brand specific, technically-oriented field training, which is now conducted by Kuraykyn’s recently added product category specialists and veteran Progressive Suspension trainer Pat Lovro.”

“MAG’s commitment to dealer education is a vital component of growing our brands on a global basis,” adds Brian Etter, president & CEO of Motorsport Aftermarket Group. “Better trained, more knowledgeable dealership personnel will allow us to better serve our customers.”

PowersportsU.com is open to the public and free to any user. To find out more and register, visit www.PowersportsU.com.
