Original Bike Spirits, a Zep Inc. brand, sponsored the “Let Freedom Ride” photo contest this summer with a grand prize of a 2014 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Classic Motorcycle. The winner of the contest, Calvin Corson, immediately donated the motorcycle to Retrieving Freedom, an organization that trains service dogs for veterans, children with autism and diabetics.
Retrieving Freedom plans to hold a drawing for the motorcycle once a minimum of 1,500 $20 raffle tickets are sold. It takes two years to train a service dog and approximately $35,000.
To celebrate the generosity of Mr. Corson and raise awareness of Retrieving Freedom and its mission, Original Bike Spirits is hosting a “special delivery” tour which it expects to begin at Hellbender Harley- Davidson in Marietta, GA and conclude near Waterloo, IA and Waverly (where Mr. Corson resides – and where one of the two Retrieving Freedom sites is located).
Along the way, organized appearances will be made at four-six additional Harley-Davidson dealerships. The motorcycle will be transported in an enclosed and wrapped trailer with branding from (OBS, Retrieving Freedom and Harley-Davidson).
At the start and end points and at each stop along the way, Original Bike Spirits will provide Harley-Davidson customers with information on Retrieving Freedom – with a chance to win the bike – and offer free Original Bike Spirits products and accessories. A spokesperson from OBS and from Retrieving Freedom will accompany the ride along with a social media specialist who will also help coordinate local press interviews along the way.
Throughout the tour, Original Bike Spirits will also conduct “Random Acts of Badness,” stopping at points of interest to surprise unsuspecting motorcyclists with free Original Bike Spirits products, auction tickets and – if Harley-Davidson dealerships are interested – dealership-themed promotional items.
Dates are still TBD at this time, but as of now the 4-5 day ride will be made in early October.
