Lear Chemical Research has been successfully developing and compounding anti-corrosion lubricants and greases since 1979, and solving corrosion related problems in the automotive, aviation, industrial, marine and recreational industries.
One of their well-known products is ACF-50 Anti-Corrosion Formula, which will be on display at their booth at INTERMOT.
Originally developed to protect aircraft and their electrical systems from corrosion, ACF-50 has met aerospace product performance standards for more than 30 years.
Since motorcycles share similar construction materials as aircraft, it makes sense to use aerospace quality protection to prevent the damaging corrosion that can occur from exposure to elements such as rain, salt water and road surface chemicals.
ACF-50 forms an ultra-thin clear film that kills existing corrosion cells and prevents new corrosion from forming.
Commonly used under panels and in hidden areas as well as on exposed parts, ACF-50 will also protect the engine case/cooling fins, gear case, radiators and forks. Its capillary action penetrates around bolts, screws and hardware, protecting them from galvanic corrosion. It is also safe to use on electronics and will keep moisture out of connectors, plugs and components.
