Kuryakyn Implements MAP Policy for Bahn

In a move to enhance the value of the brand and uphold its stance as a leading provider of vital reseller support services, Kuryakyn Holdings, LLC has announced the implementation of a Minimum Advertised Pricing (MAP) policy for Bahn.

In a move to enhance the value of the brand and uphold its stance as a leading provider of vital reseller support services, Kuryakyn Holdings, LLC has announced the implementation of a Minimum Advertised Pricing (MAP) policy for Bahn. The announcement coincides with the recent launch of the Bahn brand and significantly supports the company’s Crusher and XKursion MAP policies applied in August and October 2014, respectively.

“The MAP policies we’ve implemented are a great way to enhance and protect the integrity of our brands,” explains John Petta, Kuryakyn Director of Sales for Distribution and Business Development. “Additionally, the policies strengthen our value proposition for all of our dealers, from the smallest brick-and-mortar stores, to large ecommerce customers.”

The brand-specific MAP policies are being implemented unilaterally and apply to all U.S.-based distributors and retailers, including catalog and Internet retailers, who resell Bahn, Crusher and XKursion products. All three MAP guidelines limit resellers to no more than a 10% markdown from standard MSRP pricing. The policies are only applied to advertised pricing, and do not institute a maximum advertised price.

To better help members plan for their sales year, the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) accelerated the publication of its Statistical Annual, releasing it before the spring selling season instead of toward the end of the year as in the past.

“This is the industry’s most comprehensive assessment of the U.S. motorcycle market, from examining the market volume to motorcycle usage, motorcycle owner profiles and more,” said Scott Schloegel, acting president and CEO of the MIC. “Having it available now makes more sense for our members. They can use the data to make more informed decisions at the start of the year to help their businesses succeed.”
