The MIC team has launched the first powersports industry campaign in decades, and they’re asking you to join in a social media takeover next Thursday and Friday, July 30 and 31.
In a press release, the MIC stated:
We continue to work on expanding ridership. Together we can grow our industry by getting more riders, riding more. With this first campaign we are opportunistic. We leverage the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, suggesting using transportation that minimizes contact with others. This is where our industry steps in.
Our first phase is COMMUTER distancing, showing the juxtaposition between the current transportation options – crowded buses, trains, and streets – and the less-germy, more fun option of commuting on a motorcycle or scooter.
In the second phase, we are encouraging RECREATIONAL distancing, where we will show the fun and healthy options of off-highway motorcycles, ATVs and side-by-sides.
For COMMUTER distancing, we are geo-targeting people in cities with the highest use of public transportation. We launched last week and in just a few days have reached more than 120,000 people. These social ads drive potential riders to findyourride.org, a purpose-built website to help potential and returning riders quickly find a nearby dealer and/or a training course.
We are hopeful we can count on you to help and add to our reach. To participate in the Ridership Social Takeover next week, here’s what you can do:
- Post one or more of our commuter distancing social posts next Thursday or Friday (July 30 or 31).
- Find social images, suggested hash tags, and messaging in the MIC’s Digital Ridership Toolkit.
