The three-race Honda Superbike Showdown, organized by American Honda in conjunction with MotoAmerica, is scheduled to commence this weekend at MotoAmerica’s Road America round in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, with events to follow at Birmingham, Alabama’s Barber Motorsports Park and Monterey, California’s Laguna Seca Raceway.

Attendees at Road America, which takes place June 3-5, will have the opportunity to try Honda’s NC700X on a static roller. Powered by a liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, the adventure bike boast a number of innovative features, including an available automatic Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) and integrated storage compartment. In addition, Honda will have a display of current production models and vintage race bikes. For more information, visit www.roadamerica.com

Honda’s display of bikes will also be present at the June 11-12 Barber event, and in addition to the NC700X static roller demonstration, fans will have a unique opportunity to try out the new CRF1000L Africa Twin and VFR1200X adventure bikes in the paddock. American Honda is also pleased to host Nicky Hayden as a special guest for the weekend, and the 2006 MotoGP World Champion will do lunch-hour demonstration laps aboard a pair of very special historic factory Honda race bikes from the world famous Barber Vintage Motorsport Museum: a 1960 RC161 250cc Grand Prix racer and a 1979 CB825 superbike. Honda is offering fans a special $99 ticket package that includes a two-day general-admission pass, preferred motorcycle parking, track walk with Honda-sponsored MotoAmerica racer Benny Solis and a motorcycle parade lap. The first 100 fans to purchase the ticket package are invited to attend a special Honda party 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the museum, where they can view Honda race bikes and participate in a meet-and-greet with Hayden. The final round of the Honda Superbike Showdown is scheduled for July 8-10 at Laguna Seca, where the series winner will be presented with a Honda Civic automobile. The event will also play host to the American round of the World Superbike series, and this will be U.S. fans’ first opportunity to see Hayden race his 2016 CBR1000RR superbike. Hayden and Ten Kate Honda teammate Michael van der Mark will participate in autograph sessions and interviews, and Honda will again display current products and vintage race bikes and offer short demo rides aboard the Africa Twin and VFR1200X.
