Part of the 2015 Moto Armory AMA Off-Road Vintage Grand Championship, the hare scrambles races will take place on Friday, July 10. Several classes, designed for motorcycles from different eras, are featured. At 9:30 a.m., the flag will drop to start the vintage hare scramble. At noon, the post-vintage hare scramble will take to the trail. Then at 2:30 p.m., racers in modern hare scrambles classes will compete. Each class will race for approximately one hour.
For details on bike classes and eligibility, and to pre-enter for the event, see www.amavintagemotorcycledays.com > Register to Race. Online pre-entry is available through July 5 at 11 p.m. CT.
Mandi Mastin, a seasoned competitor on the U.S. International Six Days Enduro Women’s Trophy Team, has laid out the course for the past five years with the assistance of her family, the Bucher family and a few friends.
Mastin said the 2015 course will begin with a lap of the motocross track, and then head into the woods where competitors will make multiple loops of a 2.5-mile course.
Racing at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days encompasses a variety of ages, disciplines and all levels of rider skill.
