The Old Bike Barn Crossroads at 2019 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring Honda, includes live music by six bands, vintage motorcycle clubs, custom builders and the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Bike Show.

The event is July 5-7, at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, OH.

“The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Bike Show, presented by Old Bike Barn, always a crowd favorite, gets bigger and better every year,” said AMA Chief Operations Officer Jeff Massey. “And the music, builders, clubs and vendors give everyone a chance to take a break from the competition events and relax for a while.

“We enthusiastically welcome the Old Bike Barn back to AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days as a sponsor,” Massey said.

Old Bike Barn is a mail-order parts and accessories business based in Columbus, OH. The company, started in 2001, offers a selection of custom and maintenance parts for vintage American and Japanese street bikes, café racers, choppers, bobbers and V-twins.

Music

Six bands will perform on the Old Bike Barn Main Stage, providing people a chance to listen to some great music while enjoying food and a cold beverage before diving back into the action.

Performing Friday:

  • Folquinox, a three-piece band from Columbus, OH, weaves individual styles into a cohesive body of folk-rock sound.
  • Honey and Blue, from Columbus, OH, features singer/songwriters Adam Darling and Stephanie Amber performing a mix of pop, blues and soul.

Performing Saturday:

  • Hot Rod Deluxe is a nine-piece band that brings rock, blues, funk and Latin rhythms from their hometown of Riverside, CA.
  • Ramey is an Ohio band that plays Americana music inspired by such artists as Avett Brothers, Ryan Adams and Hank Williams.
  • Parker Louis, from Columbus, OH, offers a smooth, pop R&B sound.
  • The Spikedrivers, from Columbus, OH, belts out bluesy, upbeat, country-fried rock.

Bike Show

The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Bike Show, presented by Old Bike Barn, features dozens of spectacular restored or original vintage motorcycles.

Participants must check in or register at the bike show tent within the Old Bike Barn Crossroads on July 6. Registration closes at 11 a.m.

Classes will include first and second place awards. A limited number customizable, special merit awards will be available for bikes that may not fall within the classes listed.

In addition, there will be a Grand Marshal’s Choice Award and a Best of Show Award.

Clubs

Vintage motorcycle clubs show up at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days to exhibit the machines that reflect the passion of club members.

On hand this year in the Old Bike Barn Crossroads will be Cincinnati Café Racer, the Classic British Motorcycle Club of Cincinnati, The Ton Up Club and the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club.

A specialized club making an appearance this year celebrates the made-for-TV movie and short-lived 1960s television show “Then Came Bronson.” In honor of the show’s 50th anniversary, club members will be displaying their motorcycles, which are patterned after the Harley-Davidson XLH Sportster ridden by the series title character Jim Bronson.

Hall of Fame tent

The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame display in the Old Bike Barn Crossroads offers a taste of the Pickerington, OH, museum.

Attendees can get raffle tickets for the Hall of Fame raffle bikes: a 1951 Harley-Davidson FL and a pair Nicky Hayden tribute Hondas — a 2018 Honda CBR1000RR and a 2018 Honda XR650L — customized by Tony Prust of Analog Motorcycles and Jason LeCavalier of Artistimo Customs.

The winner of the Harley-Davidson FL will be drawn on Saturday, July 6.

AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring Honda, welcomes riders and racers of all brands to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. All activity at the event financially supports the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, the 501(c)(3) that raises money for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.

There will be vintage competition in road racing, motocross, hare scrambles and trials at Mid-Ohio and flat track racing at the nearby Ashland County Fairgrounds. Riders in these disciplines are racing for national championships or national championship series points. In addition, there will be the Biltwell Pit Bike Races, the Biltwell Holeshot Challenge and the Biltwell Off-Road Poker Run.

The event includes vendors from all areas of motorcycling, selling gear and services for motorcycles old and new. Past vendors have included vintage and modern gear sellers, painters and pinstripers, parts and tools dealers, community garages and much more.

Motorcycling experts will speak on numerous topics, including motorcycle restoration and travel. Speakers this year include three AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famers — true legends of the sport. And AMA staff members will conduct a panel discussion on important legislation affecting riders.

Wall of Death Show

The Wall of Death show features a motor drome — a silo-shaped wooden cylinder 30 feet across — and motorcycle riders performing trick, fancy and acrobatic riding on vintage motorcycles along its vertical wall. Spectators stand at the top of the 14-foot wall and look down as the riders speed around the cylinder. A crowd favorite, shows take place every hour of AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days.

Xtreme Trials

The Xtreme Trials exhibition features riders piloting bicycles and motorcycles over challenging obstacles to the delight and amazement of spectators. The riders are some of the top performers in the NATC/AMA MotoTrials National Championship Series.
