A collection of 14 vintage motorcycles from the Paul Dehnert Estate will be offered at no reserve during Dana Mecum’s 24th Annual Original Spring Classic Auction, May 17-22, 2011, in Indianapolis, Ind.
A life-long collector, Dehnert’s motorcycle collection features Triumph and Harley-Davidson bikes from the 1950s and ’60s, which are growing in popularity among today’s collectors.
"For British bike aficionados, Dehnert’s Triumph collection are the cream of the crop in both unit construction and pre-unit motors," said American Motorcyclist Association Hall of Famer Gavin Trippe, who heads up Mecum’s new motorcycle division. "From Triumph Tigers – including the rare Triumph X-75 750CC Triple Hurricane – to Norton Cammandos, a Fat Boy and the Mike Hailwood-inspired Ducati MH900, Mecum is excited to present a variety of vintage and classic motorcycles at their flagship event in May."
Mecum will kick off its vintage motorcycle division during the Original Spring Classic Auction at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, which is open to the general public with tickets available for $15 per day. The auction broadcasts on live national television as part of the company’s successful series "Mecum Auto Auction: Muscle Cars & More" on HD Theater.
