Dealership Destroyed by Fire Recovers Inventory Data through ADP Lightspeed

Delta Sports, located in Delta, Utah, suffered a devastating fire that completely destroyed its store and inventory over the summer. Fortunately, within three days of the fire, the dealership’s DMS helped recreate the inventory thanks to Lightspeed’s off-site secure data center.

Fortunately enough, some piece of the business was salvaged thanks ADP Lightspeed, the dealership’s dealer management system, and its off-site secure data center. “Truly, it was a worst case scenario for us," said Kevin Bogue, owner. "The fire destroyed everything — every unit we had on hand, every piece of inventory, every one of our 80-100,000 individual parts.

“Within three days of the fire, Lightspeed had helped us recreate our inventory so we could provide a complete report to the insurance company. We were also able to send over all the building information because we had proof of everything we had in the store. I was really grateful for that — and it wouldn’t have been possible if we’d had an on-site system.”

Rather than using an on-site server for support, ADP Lightspeed connects to ASP, an off-site, secure server solution. “Within five days, we were able to get a computer set up and running so we could access our DMS and do what we needed to manage the business end of things,” said Bogue.
