As a top chain supplier to MotoGP, D.I.D has the ultimate testing grounds for its latest products, which include an upgraded version of the ultimate road racing chain – the 520ERV7 G&G.
The ERV7 has a three percent higher tensile strength than the previous ERV3, due to stronger inner side plates and thicker pins, D.I.D told us at AIMExpo in Columbus.
The new ERV7 has longer chain life as well, with increased X-ring durability there’s 13% more wear resistance than the previous chain. D.I.D says that the all of the changes to the ERV7 allow for an overall reduction in friction compared to the ERV3.
D.I.D’s marketing and sales manager, Clay Solise, says that even though there is a giant lack of overall chain maintenance in the industry, the new chains they have introduced – which also include the Pro Street 525VX3 and 530Vx G&B – may allow riders to forget about their chains even longer.
