Class of ’79 First Annual Chairty Golf Classic Supports Aid to Injured Riders

The golf tournament will take place Aug. 31 at the Piper Glen Golf Club in Springfield, Ill. Participants will be paired with current and past GNC riders for a round of best ball golf.

Saddlemen presents the Class of ’79 First Annual Charity Golf Classic to support Aid to Injured Riders (AIR). AMA Flat Track racers past and present will be in attendance at the Aug. 31 tournament in Springfield, Ill.

The tournament will take place the day before the Springfield Mile race at the Piper Glen Golf Club. Participants will be paired with current and past GNC riders for a round of best ball golf. Prizes will be available on select holes for closest to the pin, hole-in-one and more. The event will be followed by lunch and an awards banquet, and there will also be a silent auction and autograph session.

The cost to participate is $100 for pre-entry and $125 the day of the event. The event is limited to the first 54 golfers to sign up, so be sure to register by contacting Nicalee Sowders of AIR at (405) 664-7821 or by e-mail at [email protected]. All proceeds go directly to AIR.

Stemp is a noted editor and writer of several motorcycle-focused books. Her consistent support for charitable efforts in the industry include the annual Biker Belles Celebration, Las Vegas BikeFest and as campaign chair for the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum’s development plan in 2014. She co-founded the Flying Piston charity events taking place in Daytona and Sturgis each year and is a National Ambassador for All Kids Bike. Stemp was inducted into both the Las Vegas Motorcycle Hall of Fame and the Sturgis Museum's Hall of Fame in 2018, and in 2022 she was recognized as one of the Top 100 Women in Powersports by DealerNews.
