Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) recently announced the addition of six new tires to its motorcycle tire portfolio. As a global leader in motorcycle tire technology and innovation, Bridgestone is committed to developing and designing new and cutting-edge tires that enable motorcycles to perform at their peak. These new products utilize the latest technologies to meet the needs of their target riders.
The Bridgestone BATTLAX BT-46 is set to replace the iconic BATTLAX BT-45. Since its introduction 22 years ago, the BATTLAX BT-45 has been a versatile tire for sport touring and vintage riders. Now, Bridgestone has upgraded this design with the latest sport touring technology.
Featuring an inverted V-shape in the front pattern – it reduces irregular wear and gives the rider incredible feel for superior handling. The rear tire is enhanced with a newly adapted silica single compound to maximize performance, grip and wear. Wet performance has been upgraded, but with no impact on its predecessor’s well-known dry handling performance and wear resistance. The BT46 is compatible with UM application: tubeless marked tires are approved for mounting on tube type rims if they are used with a tube.
Bridgestone developed this tire to cover the wide range of classic motorcycle tire sizes. Available in 21 sizes for the front and 27 sizes for the rear. Initial sizes will be launched in January 2020, with a rollout of the full line to follow soon after.
Specifically developed for Maxi Classic Racing, the Bridgestone BATTLAX RACING CR11 has already proven its superior performance. When it was still in development, the BATTLAX RACING CR11 was part of the winning teams at the FIM Europe classic endurance championship (EEC) and the 4-hour Biker’s Classic in Spa-Francorchamps.
The BATTLAX RACING CR11 offers fast warm up – an important feature for races that don’t allow tire warmers. The tread pattern is derived from Bridgestone’s grooved racing tire, BATTLAX RACING R11, and gives riders consistent grip and superior performance. With its high-performance V-MS-Belt (variable monospiral belt) construction on the front, this tire provides excellent braking stability and offers exceptional feel when cornering. On the rear tire, a combination of high-racing performance compounds in a 3-layer configuration boost performance in wet conditions. Compliant with the FIM Europe regulations for the Maxi Classic, this tire is designed for racing and will be available March 2020 in size 110/80 R18 for the front and 150/65 R18 for the rear.
New to the North American scooter portfolio and designed for the sportier urban rider, the Bridgestone BATTLAX SC tire was built for small to medium displacement scooters and gives riders confidence in both wet and dry conditions. Its unique tread pattern and optimized groove angle promotes sporty handling and improved stability while also achieving a quieter ride for those in urban areas. With wide, inverted V-shaped grooves the tire is designed to evacuate water to provide enhanced grip and improved handling in wet conditions. The BATTLAX SC will be available in January 2020 in a wide range of sizes.
The Bridgestone BATTLAX SCOOTER SC2 tire allows riders to experience the full potential of their maxi-scooter with a hypersport-inspired design. Featuring a new tread pattern with increased block rigidity on the shoulder, riders can expect enhanced dry cornering grip performance providing maximum confidence while making their morning commute or discovering a new backroad. Its high-performance MS-Belt (mono spiral belt) construction on the rear tire gives riders the experience of a lighter tire with enhanced precision feeling and handling on any surface. The BATTLECROSS SCOOTER SC2 will be available in January 2020 in two front and two rear sizes.
Developed for maxi-scooter riders that won’t let a little precipitation slow them down, the Bridgestone BATTLAX SCOOTER SC2 Rain was built for everyday riders who desire maximum wet performance. The versatile tread pattern was derived from the BATTLAX Sport Touring T31 tire and features a groove ratio to promote water drainage and increase traction giving riders confidence in any wet condition. The BATTLECROSS SCOOTER SC2 Rain will be available in January 2020 in one front and two rear sizes.
And finally, introduced in 2019, the Bridgestone BATTLECROSS E50 had a successful first year, winning races across different enduro categories. To build on this success, Bridgestone is releasing a new, dedicated racing tire for extreme enduro, the Bridgestone BATTLECROSS E50 EXTREME. The new E50 Extreme challenges even the toughest terrain. It features a soft compound developed for superior grip and high traction. The tread pattern incorporates advanced block positioning and works with the E50’s Castle Block technology to maximize edge effect and deliver extra traction. The BATTLECROSS E50 EXTREME will be available in January 2020 in one rear size, 140/80 – 18 70M NHS.
