Registration is now open for a powersports-specific F&I program aimed at improving your per unit sale total. Zachary Materne, general manager of a multi-brand motorcycle store in New Orleans, said this type of training has resulted in a nearly 20 percent increase in his per unit sale total through last fall and into this summer.
“It wasn’t just our F&I department that improved,” he said, “it was our entire sales process.”
Materne’s European motorcycle dealership, Transportation Revolution, was involved in a F&I training program run by Steve Dodds of Garage Composites, the industry’s leading dealership management training and 20 club provider. Dodds has taken his in-store learning experience and expanded it into a multi-session program.
The program, part of Garage Composites’ Management Training Academy, is run over the fall and winter to ensure F&I and sales staffs are prepared for a successful busy season. Training topics will include menu selling, how to successfully overcome objections and how to recruit new finance sources. Plus, the program dives deep into compliance issues that Materne agrees can be costly headaches for dealership management.
Data review is a key part of the Garage Composites’ F&I Training Academy, which is why the program is held over several sessions to ensure growth and accountability from the students.
