Yamaha and Yoshimura Expand Y-Series Product Line

Yamaha Parts and Accessories has announced its Y-Series exhaust systems, manufactured in collaboration with Yoshimura R&D of America will be expanding the line-up of high performance, emissions-compliant, slip-on exhaust systems.

Yamaha Parts and Accessories, a division of Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., has announced its Y-Series exhaust systems, manufactured in collaboration with Yoshimura R&D of America will be expanding the line-up of high performance, emissions-compliant, slip-on exhaust systems custom engineered for Yamaha’s Supersport, Supersport Touring, and Sport category with the addition of full systems to the Sport and Sport Heritage categories.

“The success of last year’s Y-Series launch alongside our new unit launches proved the need for an extended product offering and our ongoing collaboration with Yoshimura® with their technological, race-inspired masterpieces were our go-to choice,” said Frank Pittman, vice president, Customer Support Group, Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. “We are excited about the newest additions to the Y-Series collection, and I’m confident both our dealers and customers will be as well.

The already successful Supersport line up will be expanded with the addition of the 2008 – 2016 and new 2017 YZF-R6 while continuing to offer the YZF-R1M, YZF-R1 YZF-R1S and YZF-R3 slip-on exhaust systems. Rounding out the slip-on category is the Supersport Touring FJR1300A/ES and the newly introduced Sport model, FZ-10.

Completely new to the lineup are the Full E.O. compliant systems that include the FZ-07, FZ-09, FJ-09 and the award winning Sport Heritage XSR900. These full systems are 50-state legal and comply with California EPA/C.A.R.B. emission laws.

Utilizing Yoshimura’s “WORKS” finish, a treatment that increases fatigue strength, is spot and scratch resistant and comes in a satin-matte finish. The expanded Y-Series now offers two finishes, the WORKS finish or polished stainless steel while still having the ability to configure with stainless steel or Carbon Fiber canisters.

Demonstrating a continued commitment to their dealer network, Yamaha and Yoshimura reworked and enhanced the sound characteristics of both lines while drastically reducing the weight, all translating into improved performance.
