On Saturday, Nov. 4, Arizona Offroad Promotions held the eleventh round of their 2018 race series at the Crazy Horse Campgrounds in Lake Havasu City, AZ. The AZOP Race Series offers a diverse mix of racing including Hare Scrambles, Grand Prix’s, Desert Races and Endurance Team Races.
Taking the course for the first time behind the wheel of a HISUN Strike 250 were two new but familiar faces, 10-year old Brodie Aikins from Peoria, AZ, and 10-year old teammate Max Gordon from Lake Havasu City, AZ.
Teammates Gordon and Aikins were able to get great starts to the race setting the pace early on the fast and competitive track. Both racers were cheered all the way to the checkered flag grabbing podium positions second and third, nearly giving HISUN the full podium sweep.
“It is always a great feeling to get out on the course and be able to assist in grooming the next wave of great racers and making sure the sport is alive in the younger generation,” said HISUN West VP of Sales, Matt Clayton. “There is no better feeling than to be able to pass down the passion so many of us have for the off-road and competitive racing to the next generation and to do it in the Strike 250 is just a cherry on top.”
