excel-awardYamaha Motor Co., Ltd. recently honored Excel Rim Co., Ltd. with a Quality Control award for 2014 during its 2015 New Year’s ceremony that took place in Hamamatsu City, Japan.

The award is given out by Yamaha to suppliers that have no quality issues for three years. The company said it was “very honored” to receive the award, which it achieved in part due to its quality control plan that aims at daily improvement in the following areas:

1. Quality starts from 5S (Japanese quality improvement philosophy): Improving the working environment, particularly focusing on sorting, setting-in-order and polishing.

2. Quality is based on Lot Guarantee: Implementing “first/final” inspection for every single lot to assure and control the Product Quality, and constantly enhancing Excel’s 5M points (machinery, manpower, material, measurement and method).

3. Quality Judgment from the Customer’s point of view: focusing on appearance quality to fully understand and assure end-users’ quality requirements.

Excel Rim is a global manufacturer of rims for off-road motorcycles, and has been part of the CLN Group since 2010. For more information about RK Excel America Inc., visit www.rkexcelamerica.com.
