Avon Tyres introduced its new Cobra Chrome range of touring tires as an update to what was previously the Cobra series tires in a press conference held on Wednesday afternoon at INTERMOT.
Global Head of Motorcycle Sales, Doug Ross, said: “Avon is renowned for producing top quality motorcycle tires in the UK developed with the rider in mind. The next chapter in our long and rich brand history is the introduction of the Avon Cobra Chrome; the tire of choice for the cruiser rider in search of safety, the joy of riding and individuality.”
The company says the new Cobra Chrome delivers improved stability and durability with an advanced construction design, providing a more precise feel and tire feedback in all conditions.
Avon’s latest pattern produces more than a 5 percent larger footprint to maximize traction and the latest in compound technology is utilized to improve tread life by 10 percent. The same compound technology results in this new series of tires exhibiting excellent wet braking and handling properties.
A wide variety of specifications and sizes is available to cover cruisers, touring and custom bikes, with rears available up to 23 inches in diameter and widths of up to 330mm. A white sidewall option is available in 14 different sizes and all tires feature a Cobra-themed design with a snakeskin appearance and embossed Cobra head logo on the tread edge.
